  • asisi GmbH - Asisi Panorama THE WALL

    Berlin / Germany
    Director: Yadegar Asisi

Since 2003, Yadegar Asisi has been creating the largest 360° panoramas in the world, measuring up to 32 metres in height with a circumference of up to 110 metres. The artist has a team of some 15 members to support him in the realisation of his projects in his Design Office situated in Berlin. Since the pilot project in 2003, over five million visitors have seen his panoramas.

In 2012 Asisi first presented his panorama of the Berlin Wall in a specially built rotunda at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin. The panorama displaces the visitor into the daily life in the vicinity of the Berlin Wall on a fictitious autumn day in the 1980s, showing both the banal routineness and subtle horror of normality in the divided city. Asisi’s panoramic experiences are always rounded off with special light designs and accompanying music by film composer Eric Babak.

Ever since then, many different projects have been on display at Panometer Dresden, depicting for instance BAROQUE DRESDEN, the tropical rainforest in AMAZONIA or the city of Dresden in the immediate aftermath of the bombing raids in 1945 (DRESDEN 1945). Asisi’s thematic diversity ranges from city views depicting historical moments – ROME 312 or LEIPZIG 1813 – over fascinating natural phenomena, like the Himalaya Mountains in EVEREST or the unique underwater world of the Australian GREAT BARRIER REEF. Asisi’s panoramic experiences are always rounded off with special light designs and accompanying music by film composer Eric Babak.
