New publication 'Panoramas worldwide and Birth of Chinese Panoramas'

Mr Xia Shu-shen edited a big book Panoramas worldwide and Birth of Chinese Panoramas in Beijing in 2014. The book depicts major China and worldwide panoramas with the whole scale pictures and amazing details of hundreds colour pages, it is thrilling history document about centuries of panoramas. He wrote various designing elements on full and half circle panorama research. The book won the researchers a lot of admiring when first publicly showed at Altoetting 23rd IPC conference last September.

Mr Xia has been working in art design of museum more than 60 years, he is the founder of panorama in China. In 1991 the state council recognized him as a specialist who has made “prominent contributions to developing our nation”. In 1996 Mr Xia was honored been listing in the Cambridge WHO’S WHO. After he visited North Korea and Soviet Union in early 1980’s, in 1988 and 1889 he was the curator of designing of Beijing Lu Gou Qiao Battle (Marco Polo Bridge) and Jinzhou, the Capturing of Jinzhou panoramas which are considered a big success. He designed half circle panoramas includes : Suzhou, The Battle of Lake Yang Cheng; Guangdong, Dongguan, Humen Sea Battle; Sichuan, Chengdu,Entre Jinsha ; Sanxi, The Vitory of Pingxingguan and shanxi,Yan’an, The Battle of Yiwa,etc.

Mr Xia’s distinguishing design feature is adventurous, novel and grand that wins many respecting by his colleagues. At the age of 84, he will be the chief curator for restoring and up-dating work of Beijing Mar co Polo Bridge Panorama, to celebrate 70 years anniversary of victory Anti-Fascist War in 2015.
