Crankies in the press

Monday, 15 June 2015

Crankies (a modern day version of 19th Century moving panoramas) received a lot of press last week. Sue Truman (IPC member) coordinated the first CRANKIE FEST at the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle. Four crankie artists (Dejah Leger, Charmaine Slaven, Gregory Johnson and Sue Truman) performed to a full house and a very enthusiastic audience.

Watch this 3 minute filmed produced by the Folklife Festival about Dejah Leger's crankies.  It ran on PBS last week and that's Sue Truman playing the fiddle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yQ0AciktKA
And read about Dejah's crankies in the article run in the Seattle TImes last weekend. See a time lapse video of the "Seattle Sketcher" sketching the Leger family.
