Theatre Scenery in Church

ThemeOn request of Daguerre, in, 1852, the city of Bry opened the semi-round wall of the chancel and added a small building in the extantion of the chevet of the church. A window glass on the top was also added.
Daguerre partialy closed the windows of the nave and painted the wall of the chancel in dark green so the parishoniers would be in half darkness. In the nave, it was then impossible to distinguish the limits of the painting and to find the origin of the light.
