The “ROME 312” Panorama by Yadegar Asisi depicts the ancient world’s primary metropolis in the heyday of its architectural splendour. Standing in the over 30 m high Panorama, the visitor’s gaze sweeps from the centre over the city’s densely populated hills, the famous temples, thermae (bath complexes), basilicas and triumphal arches – architectural masterpieces, whose ruins even today capture the image of Rome. In the 360° Panorama, they represent the architectural infrastructure of the capital of the Roman Empire and are filled to overflowing with the pulsating metropolitan life of the ancient world. On the horizon can be perceived the Sabine Hills, the Apennine Mountains and even the coastal regions.
